When I first got into soundtracks many many years ago with 'Once upon a time in the west' I didn't know what to think of tracks like 'L'attentato'.
Il gatto a nove code upgrade#
Whether you like this score enough for an upgrade is for everyone to decide for yourself. The difference was noticeable enough for me to order the new Quartet. Actually, I can hear a clear difference as the new samples sound more detailed and more clear than the more muffled GDM tracks. I then compare that with the new soundsamples on Quartet. I have good headphones, I plug it in my computer where I have the GDM 'Gatto a nove code' in iTunes. Is it an error, or is the score expanded ?
Il gatto a nove code code#
I noticed that track 17 "Il gatto a nove code (suite)" is longer on this release than on the GDM (8:16 instead of 05:24, and the title is "Il gatto a nove code #2 on the GDM). and bass guitar (beware : "Ninna nanna in blu" is the only lyrical track, and is absolutely not representative of the whole score). It works brilliant with the film and creates a crackling atmosphere of tension.Ī perfect score for people like me who love 12-tone music, dissonance. If malone has done it then its bound to sound better than ever. It has both lovely tracks (ninna nanna) and plenty tension tracks. This is one of my favourite Morricone scores ! I dont't think that the sample of the main theme sounds better than in the previous version. I will probably skip this new version and stick with the GDM version. It's not a sale I'm thinking of, it's bunching it with a bigger order from all the stuff that comes out around then. Was there ever a Black Friday sale at Quartet? Will this still be around on Black Friday I wonder. Ninna nanna in blu (Single Version) (2:46)ĥ00 units.
Passeggiata notturna (Alternate) (3:41)ġ5. Passeggiata notturna (Film Version) (5:38)ġ2. The full-color booklet includes in-depth liner notes by Jeff Bond.ĩ. This anniversary edition, produced by Claudio Fuiano and Dániel Winkler, has been completely rebuilt and mastered by Chris Malone from first-generation master tapes. For The Cat o’ Nine Tails, Morricone demonstrated his uncanny ability to range from melodies of exquisite, lyrical beauty to some of the most uncompromising and alienating avant-garde sound experimentation ever heard in film.
